![]() ![]() Well, the frustration is over, because today, as always, I clicked on iPhoto listing in the Updates tab of the App Store, and, to my surprise and delight, the upgrade to version 9.6.1 of iPhoto actually began to download! I just installed it on the Yosemite partition of my Mac Pro, and it launched just fine. Your image library should probably have its own dedicated backup method in addition to Time Machine to ensure that one-of-a-kind photos are retained for the long term. Assuming you use Photos or iPhoto as your Mac image library app, then the library may hold the only copy of every photo you've ever taken with a digital camera or your smartphone. In terms of downloading, I have heard that it will still show up in your previous purchases on the App Store for download, but I haven't looked for that myself. ![]() When I upgraded, iPhoto was removed from the dock, but was not removed from the computer, so I can still access it.
